The Disability Advisor is a faculty member of the Department and is responsible for the provision and implementation of good practices in order to support the needs of students with any type of disability.
More specifically, the Disability Advisor takes into account accessibility issues and difficulties faced by students with special needs which could make their participation in the educational process and access to information unequal compared to other students and supports them in everything related to their daily life at the Department. What is more, during the Department’s General Assembly, the Disability Advisor proposes changes to the Department’s infrastructure in order to ensure and improve the accessibility of the disabled students to them.
With a view to providing a high level of inclusive education and ensuring the smooth and equal participation of disabled students in the Department’s educational and research activities, the Disability Advisor gives priority to all kinds of provision and support of the rights of these students. The ultimate goal, beyond the timely and successful completion of their studies, is to motivate the disabled students to be actively involved in all the activities and opportunities offered by the Department.
The Disability Advisor for the Department is Assistant Professor Georgios Souliotis.
Regarding issues related to their academic studies, students with disabilities are supported by the Academic Studies Counselor.
