🤖 Who We Are
The Robotics Team of the University of the Peloponnese operates within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of the Peloponnese.
It consists of 32 undergraduate students from the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, with the common goal of implementing innovative ideas and applications in the field of technology, and more specifically in robotics.
The scientific supervisor of the team is Mr. Sotiris Christodoulou.
⚙️ Projects and Technologies
Our team develops advanced UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) platforms equipped with robotic arms, as well as high-precision STEM robots designed to serve educational and industrial needs.
Our projects participate in demanding international competitions, where they are tested under real competitive conditions in three main categories:
Line Following, Maze Solving, and Sumo.
🛠️ The team actively trains in the following areas
- 🔹 Development of automatic control systems and command execution, including obstacle detection and position correction.
- 🔹 Design of electronic circuits and microcontroller programming for advanced computing systems, with applications in robotics and the advancement of machine learning.
- 🔹 3D design of components and robotic mechanisms using specialized CAD software.
- 🔹 PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design, which forms the physical infrastructure for the connection and operation of all electronic components.
🏆 Distinctions and Participations
- 📌 2024: Participation in the European Robochallenge Romania competition.
- 📌 2023: Competitive participation in the XIV Robotic Arena in Wrocław, Poland.
- 📌 2021 & 2019: 1st place in the national finals of the WRO (World Robot Olympiad) educational robotics competition.
- 📌 2019: The team represented Greece in the WRO finals in the city of Győr, Hungary, achieving 9th place worldwide.
