Associate Professor

Dr. Panagiotis Alefragis holds a diploma and a PhD from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Patras. He is an Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics of Patras. 

He has over 25 years of experience in software development and algorithm design and implementation for solving large-scale optimization problems in many application areas.

He has authored more than 50 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings and has extensive international experience from participation in numerous national and European research projects. His scientific interests focus on the areas of software engineering for solving optimization problems, parallel and distributed processing, programming languages and compilers, integer and combinatorial optimization, and metaheuristic algorithms.

P. Alefragis has been a manager of Lyseis Ltd, a specialized software company for airline problem solving with clients including Lufthansa AG and AIMS and head of the FP7 ALMA and H2020 ARGO optimization modules.
