Assistant Professor

Dr. Sotiris P. Christodoulou received his degree in 1994 from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the University of Patras and his PhD in Web Engineering from the same department in 2004. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Peloponnese and a research associate at the Institute of Computer Technology and Publishing “Diophantus”. His recent research interests include: software engineering for the Web, Web application performance optimization, Web code quality, hypermedia, Web 2.0 technologies and semantic Web. His research papers include more than 40 international journals, book chapters and international conferences, recognized with over 315 peer-reviewed papers. Since 1994 he has participated in more than 15 European and National Research and Development Projects in the field of Web software technology, modeling/management of hypermedia applications, 3D educational and cultural applications, etc. Most projects combine applied research with a focus on the study and application of cutting-edge technologies to real-world problems and complex Information Systems of large organisations. He is a professional member of ACM and IEEE, a member of organizing committees in more than 15 international scientific conferences and a reviewer in recognized international journals (ACM, IEEE, etc.). Since 2004, he has taught several courses at graduate and undergraduate level at 7 different universities, mainly in the field of programming languages, web software engineering, software quality and data management.
